Celine Dion’s Paris Mansion up for Sale for 9 million euros
The French-Canadian singer has decided to sell her hotel particulier in the 16th arrondissement, having bought it in 2008. What could the successful buyer of Celine Dion’s Paris mansion look forward to?
The Villa Montmorency is a large gated community in Paris’ 16th arrondissement and will soon be the site of one of the capital’s bigger residential property deals of the year. Celine Dion, the bilingual singer famous for heart-wrenching ballads that have accompanied several classic films, has decided to part ways with a property she bought with her recently deceased husband René Angélil in 2008.
For the 9-million-euro price tag, the successful buyer will enjoy 1,400 m2 of luxury Paris living space spread over four floors. Ten rooms – five bedrooms – a personal cinema and gym adorn the property which has impregnable views of the Eiffel Tower.
Daniel Feau Immobilier is the luxury real estate agency managing the sale of Celine Dion’s Paris mansion, and they make the case that now is a great time to buy such a property, arguing that we have entered “a favorable post-election context for luxury property acquisitions, contrary to the tenure of Hollande where only one in fifteen [luxury property] listings resulted in a sale.”
The gated community of Villa Montmorency, pictured below, lies near the Porte d’Auteil metro station in the 16th arrondissement. It has housed numerous notable French figures, both recent and historical, including Isabelle Adjani, Gerard Depardieu, Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and for a brief period in 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy.
